Saginaw Strings staff encourages you to rent an instrument until your child has grown into a full-sized instrument.

Our preferred provider is Shar Music, a strings-only family business in supplying string instruments to beginners, amateurs, and professionals.
How do I begin the process of procuring an instrument for my child to play in Saginaw Strings?
Shar Music is located in Ann Arbor. Renting from Shar is an easy process.
After your child is sized, it’s a quick “1-800” call to Shar Music to place an order for your child’s instrument of choice.

Say this “(Child name) needs a (size) (instrument)”
Say this “Please ship to Saginaw Strings at the First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw, with our representative on the next SHAR delivery trip for SS.”
Ask them to confirm that your child will also receive a music stand, Suzuki Method Book 1, and a shoulder rest.
How much does it cost to purchase an instrument for my child to play in Saginaw Strings?
Payments are auto withdrawn monthly and may be stopped at any time. Your instrument will be delivered to Saginaw Strings by our Shar Music representative who visits the Saginaw, Bay City, Midland area bi-weekly. Then our teachers prepare the instrument for your child’s first class. Take a look at all of the options for payment plans here
What if I just need to change the size of my student’s instrument?
When it is time to upsize your child’s instrument, another quick call to Shar Music will send the new one to Saginaw Strings. We will collect the old instrument, prepare the new instrument, and give it to your student. Our Shar Music representative will pick up the old instrument on his next visit to Saginaw.
